- Chemistry is the central science. It plays an unparalleled role in our society. It helps us understand the world at the molecular level. A minor in chemistry opens up a plethora of opportunities in diverse fields such as medicine, forensic science, clinical laboratory science, environmental chemistry and biotechnology.
- Students will have ample opportunities to work in interdisciplinary research projects thereby making incremental contributions to the discovery of new knowledge.
- Students will be enhancing their credentials by working in diverse fields such as organic chemistry, analytical chemistry and spectroscopy, microbiology and bioremediation.
- The minor has a requirement of 35 credits can be taken by students in any major, but particularily pairs well with biology, pre-professional programs and animal science, agronomy and natural resources to land jobs with titles such as agricultural and food scientists, biological scientists, medical scientists, science technicians.
