University of Minnesota Promise Scholarships (U Promise)
U Promise is available to eligible undergraduate students enrolling at any University of Minnesota campus. It is comprised of the U Promise Free Tuition Scholarship and the U Promise Middle Income Scholarship. U of M Promise Scholarships (U Promise)
Out-of-State Residents
UMC has a one-rate tuition plan. All students are charged the standard in-state tuition rate, regardless of residency status.
Residents of North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, and Manitoba
Under reciprocity agreements, residents of North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, and Manitoba who attend UMC may pay a specially designated tuition rate. Reciprocity application forms are available on-line or from the appropriate office listed below:
Freshman Merit Scholarships
Scholarships are granted to admitted freshman based upon ACT Composite score (or SAT equivalent) and cumulative high school Grade Point Average. Students are awarded the appropriate scholarship from their Application for Admission. No separate scholarship application is required. Students must be enrolled full-time (12 credits) to receive merit scholarships.

Freshman merit scholarships are renewable with a 3.25 cumulative GPA maintained in college.
Specialty Scholarships
UMC has over 300 specialty scholarships available to students made possible by donors to UMC. Specialty scholarships require a separate application,with a February 15th deadline. Students must apply for admission and be accepted before they are able to apply for specialty scholarships. Admitted students will receive detailed instructions on the scholarship application process.
Transfer Scholarships
Transfer Scholarships are granted to incoming transfer students based upon cumulative college Grade Point Average. No separate scholarship application is required. Students will be awarded the appropriate scholarship from their Application for Admissions. Students must be enrolled full-time (12 credits) to receive merit scholarships.

Transfer scholarships are renewable for a second year if recipient successfully completes 24 credits at the U of M, Crookston and earns a cumulative 3.25 GPA.

Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The University of Minnesota, Crookston Title IV Code is 004069. The FAFSA is available on-line at www.fafsa.ed.gov, high school counselor's offices or the UMC One Stop.
