The self-assessments available through the Career and Counseling Department calculates the user's personality temperament, from input based on reactions and actions based on questions.  It also provides a set of possible career choices the user will most likely be interested in.

American Council on Education-GED Testing Service
GED Testing Service, a program of the American Council on Education, develops, delivers and safeguards the GED Tests. Start here for accurate and reliable information about the GED testing program.

CLEP
he College-Level Examination Program® (CLEP) gives you the opportunity to receive college credit for what you already know by earning qualifying scores on any of 33 examinations. Earn credit for knowledge you've acquired through independent study, prior course work, on-the-job training, professional development, cultural pursuits, or internships.


GED Testing Service
The GED 21st Century Initiative will transform the GED test into a comprehensive program that will prepare more adult learners for postsecondary education, training, and careers.


Testing & Education Reference Center
Testing & Education Reference Center contains over 100 practice tests and courses including practice tests for the usual college entrance exams, as well as for the GRE and other graduate school exams.  It also contains tests for many professional and civil service exams including Accountant/Auditor Exams, American Foreign Service Officer Exam, Correction Officer Exam, Court Officer Exam, Parole Officer Exam, and the Police Officer Exam.  The Center also includes online versions of the Peterson's preparation guides for many of these tests. It has in-depth information on colleges and universities, graduate and professional programs, distance learning, corporate training, available scholarships and awards.

Characteristics Test
A test for identify key personal characteristics. You will need a pen/pencil and paper for this one.


CISS (Campbell Interest and Skills Survey)
The CISS test includes interest scales that help assess and individual's attraction to specific occupational areas and provide a comparison to people who are happily and successfully employed in those fields. In addition, the CISS instrument goes beyond traditional inventories by adding parallel skill scales that present an estimate of the individual's confidence in his or her ability to perform various occupational activities. Together, the two types of scales provide more comprehensive, richer data than interest scores alone.

This test is available by appointment at the Career and Counseling Department offices.


CPP Inventories
This service does cost money, but is a sure way of of knowing exactly what fields you qualify for.  Contact the Counseling Career Services Center to take this test. Click here to start


Keirsey Personality Inventory
This is a free service. A test which is based on a series of questions and multiple question answers, calculates the user's personality temperament. Click here to start


Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)
The purpose of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®) personality inventory is to make the theory of psychological types described by C. G. Jung understandable and useful in people’s lives. The essence of the theory is that much seemingly random variation in the behavior is actually quite orderly and consistent, being due to basic differences in the ways individuals prefer to use their perception and judgment.

This test is available by appointment at the Career and Counseling Department offices.
