David Hennings is a familiar face around the Golden Eagle football program. He served as a part-time assistant coach at UMC for the past seven seasons. During his first three seasons he coached defensive backs. The last four seasons Hennings coached wide receivers and quarterbacks.

Prior to his full-time position with the Golden Eagle football program, Hennings was a part of the East Grand Forks Senior High School football program since 1974 and was the head coach from 1992-1999. Academically he taught History and Social Studies at East Grand Forks Senior High.
