News
Update - August 17, 2006
Representatives from University administration and
University Education Association met over the past two days to
continue discussions on a new contract. Many proposals were exchanged
in an attempt to find the best contract language to fit the unique
needs for both the faculty and administration at Crookston.
We were able to come to tentative agreement and understanding
on language under a number of section titles, which include: Appointment
papers, Faculty indemnification, Vacation, Release time, Sabbatical,
Textbooks, Office space, Leave of absence for court appearance,
and Military leaves of absence.
While we didn’t come to a final agreement, we also continued
discussions on the following language items: Harassment, Non-discrimination,
Nepotism, Consensual relationships, Travel, No strike/no lockout,
Fringe benefits, Duration of agreement, Uncompensated leaves of
absence, Parental leaves of absence, and Family and personal leaves
of absence.
We are in the process of working with the Association to identify
the dates of the next negotiations sessions in September and October.
