News Update - December 19, 2006

The parties met in a two day mediation session, December 18th and 19th on the Crookston campus, which included reaching tentative agreements on Fiscal Emergency and Substitution of faculty during short and long term absences. Discussions continued and proposals were exchanged on the topic of faculty workload. Much of the remainder the two day session was spent discussing the tenure code application and exchanging proposals relating to tenure.

Near the end of the bargaining session the Union presented a comprehensive proposal addressing all the remaining issues. The University will to take the time necessary to carefully consider the proposal and will respond on December 22.
