and information regarding negotiations between the University of
Minnesota and the University Education Association-Crookston
News
Update - March 15, 2007
The University’s management team met with the UEA bargaining committee for another mediation session on March 13 and 14 to continue negotiations on the few remaining issues. As noted in previous updates, we’ve reached agreement on very challenging topics and have made progress. However, despite the collaborative work thus far, some significant issues remain unresolved.
Both bargaining committees have presented their position in a respectful, professional manner even as we worked through some difficult matters. We believe that the present offer is fair and competitive; positions the University well in the marketplace; and recognizes the importance of scholarly activity and faculty development.
The University values the work of the dedicated and committed faculty members and looks forward to presenting the current proposal to the membership for consideration.
