AVIATION LECTURER
Agricultural and Natural Resource Department

POSITION: Full-time, 9-month, annual renewable position in the Agriculture and Natural Resources Department at the Crookston campus of the University of Minnesota beginning August 19, 2013. Salary dependent on qualifications and level of experience. A competitive fringe benefits package is offered.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide program leadership to the established aviation program which combines agriculture, business management, natural resources, and law enforcement with aviation. Provide support to existing programs in natural resources aviation, agricultural aviation, business aviation, and natural resources law enforcement. Deliver flight instruction and teach aviation academic courses such as, but not limited to: introduction to aviation, airplane aerodynamics, aircraft systems, basic attitude instrument flying, IFR procedures and policies, conventional aircraft operations, certified flight instructor, instrument certified flight instructor, conservation law enforcement, natural resources and law enforcement aviation applications, and agricultural application. Advise undergraduate students in aviation programs. Develop working relationships with agencies and organizations to assist with internship and permanent job placement. Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary faculty whose focus is on the practical application of knowledge and technology.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s Degree in an aviation related field, natural resource-related field, criminal justice, biology, or law degree; FAA certified flight instructor (CFI) certificate and instrument instructor rating for single engine airplanes; experience as aviator in agricultural application, natural resources, conservation law enforcement, or general law enforcement; substantial experience as Pilot in Command of Conventional Gear aircraft; strong communication skills; ability to relate complex concepts to diverse audiences and commitment to a polytechnic educational philosophy within the scope of the land grant mission. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. in a field related to natural resources, aviation, or agriculture; experience as a flight instructor or agency pilot; and teaching experience at the college level or in comparable extension, continuing education, or agency capacity; substantial experience with flight instruction in Conventional Gear aircraft.

HEALTH MANAGEMENT LECTURER (CLASS #9753)
Math, Science & Technology Department

POSITION:
Full-time, 9-month, annual renewable position as Lecturer in Health Management starting August 19, 2013.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Deliver high-quality instruction (mostly online), at the undergraduate level in the Bachelor of Science in Health Management program and the Bachelor of Applied Health program. Assist in the development and implementation of program goals and objectives. Advise students, contribute to student recruitment and retention initiatives, support research and outreach in health management. Develop and maintain strong ties to the health care industry. Utilize opportunities of service to the department, university and the community. This position requires regular office hours on the University of Minnesota Crookston campus.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree in health services administration or related field and three years of experience in health care administration. Excellent communication skills; personable and outgoing attitude; and customer service oriented. Final job offer is contingent upon complete background check and receipt of official transcripts.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Five or more years of experience in health care administration, preferably in acute care. Teaching experience at the undergraduate level, including online instruction, and/or a Ph.D. or Ed.D.

MANAGEMENT LECTURER
POSITION:
Full-time, 9-month, annual renewable position starting August 19, 2013. Teach courses in business which may include management, finance, and economics; develop working relationships with organizations and businesses to assist with internship and permanent job placement; and work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary faculty whose focus is on the practical application of knowledge and business technology. Additional responsibilities include working with the Enactus Club, student advising, and committee work.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: MBA or Master’s degree in business field required. Work or teaching experience in the areas of management; strong communication skills; ability to relate complex concepts to diverse audiences; and commitment to a polytechnic educational philosophy within the scope of the land grant mission. ENGLISH LECTURER
POSITION
: Annually-renewable, 9-month position starting August 19, 2013. The responsibilities are to teach and to provide service at a level appropriate to the University of Minnesota system. Depending upon the department’s needs the successful candidate will teach a variety of writing courses both at the lower division and upper-division.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Earned Master’s degree in English, Rhetoric, or related field and demonstrated teacher/mentor/trainer in writing. Final job offer contingent upon receipt of official transcripts and complete background check.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: PhD in English, Rhetoric, or related field and ability and experience in developing and teaching both campus and online courses.
