TENURE TRACK POSITION IN ACCOUNTING
POSITION: Full-time, nine-month tenure track position in the Business Department at the Crookston campus of the University of Minnesota starting August 20, 2012. Salary and rank commensurate with qualifications and experience. A competitive fringe benefits package is offered.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide program leadership in the accounting program; teach courses in Intermediate Accounting I and II, Income Tax I and II, Income Tax Preparation, Accounting Systems; Cost Accounting I and II; Advanced Accounting I & II; and other upper level accounting classes as needed; develop an appropriate research and/or outreach program in candidate’s area of expertise; advise undergraduate students in accounting degree program; develop working relationships with organizations and businesses to assist with internship and permanent job placement; work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary faculty whose focus is on the practical application of knowledge and business technology; and scholarly activity appropriate for a tenure track position; teach on campus and online undergraduate courses in Accounting. Additional responsibilities include student advising and committee work.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Terminal degree or ABD in Business Administration with concentration in accounting or related field; computing skills in MS Windows environment, as well as accounting/management information systems; strong communication skills; ability to relate complex concepts to diverse audiences; and commitment to an experiential educational philosophy within the scope of the land grant mission. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Doctorate degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or related field; two years of related work or teaching experience; and university on campus and online teaching experience. Prefer to have a current CPA certification.

VISUALIZATION ENGINEER/LECTURER (Class #9753)
POSITION: Full-time, 12-month positions starting June 18, 2012 or as soon as possible thereafter.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintain the high performance visualization system, system administration, programming and development of visualization, and GIS applications and any required content. Applications developed by this position will be targeted toward a variety of platforms such as Microsoft Windows, Linux, and Android Mobile. May be required to teach courses in computer application areas including but not limited to multimedia, computer graphics, and web development. This position has research and teaching potential.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: MS in Software Engineering or equivalent technical discipline; ten years experience in visualization technology at both academia and industry. Candidate should master demonstrable working knowledge of JAVA, in Linux and Windows, C++, in Linux and Visual Studio, Python, OpenGL, BodyVis, OpenGLES, DirectX, CAVElib, CONDUIT, Vgeo, VRJuggler, VRML, Microsoft Windows 7 Operating System Administration, Linux Operating System Administration, Autodesk 3D Studio Max, Adobe Photoshop, Esri ARCview, Software lifecycle management and revision control, Video Editing/ Post Production, 3D Architectural Model Construction and Rendering, User Interface Design and Integration and Visualization Cluster Hardware; excellent written and verbal communication skills; public speaking skills; ability to create instructional materials, and ability to read, write, and understand English. QUALIFICATIONS: A terminal degree in the discipline or related area and substantial professional recognition in the field is preferred. A Master’s degree or 18 graduate credits in the discipline or a related area and competence to teach the material of the specific course is required. In special circumstances, for particular courses, an individual with a baccalaureate degree and experience and competence to teach the course may be hired. .
