DEPARTMENT HEAD (WITH FACULTY RANK)
BUSINESS DEPARTMENT
POSITION: The Department Head reports to the Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs and holds faculty rank concurrently with the term of appointment. The Department Head is the chief administrative officer and appointing authority responsible for a department organized for teaching, research, and service. The Department Head is expected to provide strong leadership and vision for growth, be active in professional organizations, and contribute to the department and the field while functioning as administrator in the department. Salary and benefits package is competitive. This is a full-time, 12-month, annual renewable position (nine-month appointment with three-month summer augmentation). Start date is July 1, 2014 or as soon as possible thereafter.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead the department in a manner consistent with the principles of shared governance and the negotiated agreement; provide leadership in curriculum development; advocate for department faculty and research in the department; promote and maintain a high-quality learning environment for diverse on-campus and online students; determine annual department goals, objectives, and plans; prepare, prioritize, and monitor budget requests and expenditures; represent the department on administrative groups; communicate and implement university and system policy; recruit, hire, and mentor new faculty; seek additional funding sources; espouse and practice principles of affirmative action and equal opportunity; keep current with new developments in their field; maintain involvement with professional organizations; and help advance the outreach mission of the University.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Earned doctorate degree, college level teaching and research experience in one of the department’s academic disciplines or closely related field; evidence of leadership abilities, solid communication skills, and strong interpersonal and team skills; track record of significant achievement in both teaching and research; demonstrated commitment to diversity; and credentials appropriate for tenure and rank of associate professor or full professor within the department.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Currently tenured and experience in college-level administration, new program development, experience obtaining business accreditation, experience administering online education; online teaching, research, and/or professional experience in rural entrepreneurship and/or economic development.

TENURE TRACK POSITION IN ACCOUNTING
BUSINESS DEPARTMENT

POSITION: Full-time, nine-month tenure track position in the Business Department at the Crookston campus of the University of Minnesota starting August 18, 2014. Salary and rank commensurate with qualifications and experience. A competitive fringe benefits package is offered.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide program leadership in the Accounting program; teach undergraduate Accounting courses on campus and online; develop scholarly activity and research appropriate for a tenure track position; advise undergraduate students in Accounting Degree Program; develop working relationships with organizations and businesses to assist with internship and job placement; committee work; and work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary faculty whose focus is on the practical application of knowledge and business technology.

TENURE TRACK POSITION IN MATHEMATICS
MATH, SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT

POSITION:
Nine month, full time tenure track position in Mathematics, in the Department of Math, Science, and Technology starting August 18, 2014. Rank and compensation commensurate with qualifications and experience. An excellent fringe benefits package is offered.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Primary teaching responsibilities include but not limited to College Algebra, Pre-calculus, Calculus I and Calculus II. A successful candidate is expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching. She/he is expected to establish his/her own research program. Research is meant to include a broad range of scholarly activities relevant to the mission of the university. Ability to conduct interdisciplinary research, particularly one that involves undergraduate students is desirable. LECTURER/PROGRAM DIRECTOR IN HEALTH MANAGEMENT AND APPLIED HEALTH (Requisition #189117)
MATH, SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT

POSITION: Lecturer and Program Director in Health Management and Applied Health is a full-time, 12-month (9-month appointment as Lecturer plus a 12-month appointment as Program Director), annual renewable position based on performance and funding starting as soon as possible.  Final job offer contingent upon receipt of official transcripts and a satisfactory background certification.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Deliver high-quality instruction (online) at the undergraduate level in the Bachelor of Science in Health Management program and the Bachelor of Applied Health program.  Lead the development of program goals and objectives.  Lead assessment activities in the programs.  Advise students, contribute to student recruitment and retention initiatives, support research and outreach in health management.  Develop and maintain strong ties to the health care industry.  Utilize opportunities of service to the department, University, and community.  This position requires regular office hours on the University of Minnesota Crookston campus. As Program Director this position manages appropriate accreditation efforts, assists in recruitment of regular and adjunct faculty, manages internships, coordinates and leads the Program Improvement Advisory Committee, leads curriculum development, and manages the two programs.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree in health services administration or related field and three years of experience in health care administration.  Excellent communication skills; personable and outgoing attitude, and customer service orientation.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Five or more years of experience in health care administration and nursing home licensure.  Teaching experience at the undergraduate level, experience teaching online, and a doctorate degree.

JOB SUMMARY:
Advise online undergraduate students; evaluate online business coursework; work with procedures/systems to serve online students and faculty; provide exceptional communication and support for instructors and online students; provide leadership and support for technology enhanced learning, online staffing, and organization of faculty in programs; teaching online classes as needed; assist in the development of articulations for joint marketing ventures with other organizations.
POSITION: Full-time, 12-month, annual renewable position in the Business Department at the Crookston campus of the University of Minnesota starting May 19, 2014 as soon as possible thereafter. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. An excellent fringe benefits package is offered.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Advising and leadership responsibilities include advise online students in their academic program; provide leadership and support for technology enhanced learning; manage administrative planning and department policies; and maintain effective communication with online and distance students. Program administrative services responsibilities include work with online student support services for the University of Minnesota, Crookston’s online degrees collaborating with Academic Departments and the Center for Adult Learning; advise potential and current distance students on issues of application & registration processes, financial aid, technology, and with transcript evaluation; advise students with academic program planning, and maintain high quality customer service and response time; and provide an orientation to the online environment and protocols for online students. Administrative responsibilities include work with Academic Departments, the Center for Adult Learning and the University of Minnesota’s Digital Campus to assist with the online recruitment; design and integration of e-communication tools; and opportunities for online enrollment growth. Teaching responsibilities include teach up to 6 credits per academic year.

COMPUTER GRAPHICS AND VISUALIZATION DEVELOPER/ TEACHING SPECIALIST (Class #9754 -Teaching Specialist)

POSITION: Full-time, 12 month, annual renewable position based on funding and performance starting as soon as possible.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The responsibilities of this position are two-fold: A)Software development: This position will be primarily responsible for maintaining operating and evolving the immersive 3D Display systems, multi-user, multi-touch devices and variety of projection based displays. This position also closely collaborate with faculty from different disciplines to develop software tailored to meet their requirements such modelling and simulation which involves activities such as analysis, design, documentation, coding and debugging of software; and B)Teaching: This position will also be responsible for teaching courses (including but not limited to: computer graphics, 3D modelling and programming, simulation programming and game design and development), developing academic materials, advise and mentor students during internships.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Baccalaureate degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field; experience with the software development life cycle; experience with 2D/3D design, modeling and computer simulation; proficiency with C++, C# (.Net, WPF), Java, OpenGL/ API OpenGL, Microsoft XNA, Direct3D; proficiency with Graphical User Interfaces for multiple platforms; research off-the-shelf software tools and components, interface with faculty and scholars; translate needs into software requirements and designs; effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills; communicates proactively and effectively at all levels, ability to effectively communicate software requirements and design to non-software team members; capacity for creative problem solving and innovation; and ability to effectively translate given requirements into software requirements.
