POSITIONS: Two full-time, nine-month annual renewable positions as lecturer in the Business Department at the Crookston campus of the University of Minnesota starting August 18, 2014 Salary and rank commensurate with qualifications and experience. A competitive fringe benefits package is offered.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach on-campus and on-line undergraduate courses in Accounting, and academic advising of students.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s or MBA degree with concentration in accounting or related field earned by August 18, 2014; strong communication skills; ability to relate complex conception to diverse audiences; ability to read, write, and understand English; and commitment to an experiential education philosophy within the scope of the land grant mission. POSITION: 9-month, annual renewable position as a lecturer in Communication starting August 18, 2014. The responsibilities are to teach and provide service at a level appropriate to the University of Minnesota system. Depending upon department needs, the successful candidate will develop and teach a variety of communication and speech courses, including those for non-majors. Advise students with regard to academic concerns and college-related organizations. Service to department and campus through committee service and/or other related activities.
Master’s degree in Communication or related field; record of effective campus and online teaching at the university level and proficient in the use of computer technology; experience with instructional technology methods; and ability to develop and implement both campus and online communication and speech courses. Ph.D. in Communication or related field; demonstrated web-based, multimedia experience, including text, visuals, sound, and motion; single-source publishing ability and new media savvy; and understanding of a commitment to an applied education within the land grant mission and philosophy.

Full-time, 9-month (R-term), annual renewable (K-type) lecturer position in mathematics in the Math, Science and Technology Department starting on August 18, 2014. Compensation is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Deliver high-quality undergraduate instruction to students in the mathematics courses. Courses include developmental freshman level math courses such as Elementary and Intermediate Algebra, College Algebra, Elementary Statistics, Survey of Calculus. Courses will include both on-campus and on-line courses. The person hired is expected to contribute to further develop programs, advise students, participate in student recruitment/retention efforts, and participate in department and committee meetings.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: M.S. in Mathematics, Mathematics Education or related field. Final job offer is contingent upon complete background check and receipt of official transcripts.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Doctorate degree, two years of teaching experience, experience teaching online courses, effective use of educational technology.

POSITION: Full-time, 12 month, annual renewable position based on funding and performance starting as soon as possible.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The responsibilities of this position are two-fold: A)Software development: This position will be primarily responsible for maintaining operating and evolving the immersive 3D Display systems, multi-user, multi-touch devices and variety of projection based displays. This position also closely collaborate with faculty from different disciplines to develop software tailored to meet their requirements such modelling and simulation which involves activities such as analysis, design, documentation, coding and debugging of software; and B)Teaching: This position will also be responsible for teaching courses (including but not limited to: computer graphics, 3D modelling and programming, simulation programming and game design and development), developing academic materials, advise and mentor students during internships.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Baccalaureate degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field; experience with the software development life cycle; experience with 2D/3D design, modeling and computer simulation; proficiency with C++, C# (.Net, WPF), Java, OpenGL/ API OpenGL, Microsoft XNA, Direct3D; proficiency with Graphical User Interfaces for multiple platforms; research off-the-shelf software tools and components, interface with faculty and scholars; translate needs into software requirements and designs; effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills; communicates proactively and effectively at all levels, ability to effectively communicate software requirements and design to non-software team members; capacity for creative problem solving and innovation; and ability to effectively translate given requirements into software requirements. Final job offer contingent upon receipt of official transcripts and a satisfactory background certification.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field; background and interest in gaming, virtual reality; experience with computer networking; industrial experience with preference to Game industry, and 3D graphics and visualization, and Human-Computer interaction.
