The University of Minnesota Crookston retained its No. 1 status among public Midwest Regional Colleges in the recently released 2022-2023 rankings by U.S. News and World Report. UMN Crookston has been ranked number one for four-consecutive years and has ranked in the top four consecutively for over 25 years in that category.

“We are honored and excited to again receive the number one ranking for public Midwest Regional Colleges,” said Chancellor Mary Holz-Clause. “It reflects the quality of education our students receive at UMN Crookston.”

Other campuses in the University of Minnesota system were highlighted in the most recent rankings including UMN Twin Cities which was ranked among the nation’s top 25 public schools, a goal set in the systemwide strategic plan MPact 2025. The announcement is the Twin Cities campus’ highest ranking in 12 years. UMN Duluth improved eight spots in the Regional Universities in the Midwest category and UMN Morris improved its ranking among National Liberal Arts Colleges by five places. UMN Rochester is accredited with the Twin Cities campus and, as a result, their information is included in the Twin Cities ranking.

The U.S. News and World Report results reflect a wide variety of criteria, including graduation rates, indebtedness, faculty resources and expert opinion.
