UMC/UND Baseball Games Moved to Sunday & Monday in Bismarck, N.D.

(Crookston, Minn.) – The University of Minnesota, Crookston and University of North Dakota Baseball games scheduled for Saturday, March 29 and Sunday, March 30 in Grand Forks, N.D. have been moved to Sunday, March 30 and Monday, March 31 in Bismarck, N.D. on the campus of the University of Mary. Sunday’s doubleheader will start at 2:00 pm while Monday’s doubleheader will start at 12:00 pm.

 

The Golden Eagles have an overall record of 3-5 and Northern Sun Intercollegiate record of 1-3 after going 1-3 against Bemidji State University last Thursday and Friday. U of M, Crookston is led by Shawn Motl (So, RHP/3B, Staples, Minn.) who is hitting .391 (9 for 23) with four runs batted in (RBI), Alex Gregor (Fr, RHP/1B, Shakopee, Minn.) who is hitting .385 (5 for 13) with three RBI, Paul Krebs (Jr, RHP/C, Little Falls, Minn.) who is hitting .381 (8 for 21) with two RBI and Tyler Reiner (Jr, C, Sanborn, Minn.) who is hitting .348 (8 for 23). Nick Wright (So, RHP, Grand Forks, N.D.) is 1-1 on the hill with a 5.23 earned run average (ERA) and seven strikeouts. Krebs is 1-2 with a 5.94 ERA and 20 strikeouts.

 

The University of North Dakota has a record of 5-5 and has not played since splitting a doubleheader at Dickinson State University on March 18. The Fighting Sioux are led by Andrew Sadler who is hitting .405 (13 for 32) with five RBI and Andrew Marek who is hitting .375 (15 for 40) with eight RBI. Mike Lueck is 1-0 with a 2.40 ERA and 15 strikeouts.

 

The Golden Eagles will return to NSIC action on Wednesday, April 2 when they travel to St. Paul, Minn. for a 2:00 pm doubleheader against Concordia-St. Paul. They will open the 2008 home season on Saturday, April 5 and Sunday, April 6 when they play host to Wayne State College. Both doubleheaders will start at 12:00 pm at the UMC Baseball Field.
