U of M, Crookston Sophomore Cathy Balsiger Crowned Becker County Dairy Princess

Crookston, Minn. (April 8, 2008) – University of Minnesota, Crookston Sophomore Cathy Balsiger, Lake Park, Minn., was recently crowned Becker County (Minn.) Dairy Princess.

Balsiger was one of five candidates for dairy princess. Prior to the coronation ceremony, each candidate competed in a mock radio interview and a personal interview with the judges. Three of the five will be selected to represent Becker County at the Princess Kay of the Milky Way competition in May.

Balsiger is majoring in pre-veterinary science at the U of M, Crookston. She grew up on a dairy farm consisting of some 1,500 milking cows located north of Lake Park.
