Golden Eagle Baseball Squad Travels to Northern State University on Wednesday

(Crookston, Minn.) – The University of Minnesota, Crookston Baseball team travels to Aberdeen, S.D. on Wednesday, April 16 for a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) doubleheader against Northern State University. First pitch is scheduled for 2:00 pm at Fossum Field.


The Golden Eagles have an overall record of 3-18 and NSIC record of 1-13 after dropping a four game series at Upper Iowa University this past Sunday and Monday. U of M, Crookston showed improvement in the last three games. The Golden Eagles are led by Jake Poehler (Fr, OF, Coon Rapids, Minn.) who is hitting .367 (22 for 60) with 11 runs batted in (RBI). He has four doubles, three triples, and two homeruns. Tyler Reiner (Jr, C, Sanborn, Minn.) is hitting .328 (20 for 61) with 11 RBI. He has three doubles and one triple. Paul Krebs (Jr, C/RHP, Little Falls, Minn.) is 1-3 on the mound with a 5.47 earned run average (ERA) with 28 strikeouts.


Northern State University has an overall record of 5-21 and NSIC record of 3-15. They are led by Adam Kampsen who is hitting .380 (27 for 71) with 25 RBI. He has five homeruns.
