presented to University of Minnesota, Crookston Senior Kristin A. Fritz, Granada, Minn. The $500 award celebrates the role of hunting and fishing in conservation and is awarded to a natural resources student at the Crookston campus. Fritz, a water resource management major,

The Cabela’s Conservation Award recognizes an outstanding student who displays significant potential to contribute to the field. Recipients must have at least a 3.00 grade point average, be of senior status, and complete an essay on the role of hunting and fishing in conservation. The scholarship was first awarded in 2001 and was made possible by a donation from Cabela’s, Inc., East Grand Forks, Minn.

The Natural Resources Department at the U of M, Crookston also offers majors in wildlife management, natural resources management, natural resources law enforcement and park management.
