(Crookston, Minn.) – The University of Minnesota, Crookston Football program held a youth camp on June 10 and 11 at the UMC campus. The camp ran from 6:00 – 8:00 pm each day and attracted 32 participants.

Golden Eagle Head Football Coach Shannon Stassen and his assistant coaches served as instructors. Participants learned the fundamentals of football through five different stations ranging from quarterback, running back and wide receiver play to tackling and offensive and defensive line play.

The participants also took part in one-hand touch football games, races and a throwing contest. Each camper received a Golden Eagle Football camp t-shirt.

Head Coach Shannon Stassen feels that camps such as this are important to the success of the Golden Eagle Football. “Getting involved in our community is a high priority for the Golden Eagle Football program,” says Coach Stassen.  “Our youth camp gives us a great opportunity to interact with the young people in our community. They are our current fans as well as our future team members.  We had a great group of young students and their enthusiasm was tremendous.”
