(Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Football team held a car wash on Friday, August 8 in front of the Crookston Civic Arena. The Golden Eagles earned $637.00 and washed over 50 cars. All proceeds will go toward the new Crookston Ice Arena project.

“It was nice to see so many people come out and support our car wash on Friday,” says U of M, Crookston Head Football Coach Shannon Stassen. “Our players and coaches really enjoyed visiting with the people that came through. It gave us a chance to personally invite them to our home football games. The new arena will be such an important asset to our region and the football program is happy to pitch in any way it can to help our community.”

The Golden Eagles have started practice and will open their season on Saturday, August 30 when they travel to Marshall, Minn. for a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) contest against Southwest Minnesota State University. Kick-off is set for 1:00 pm.
