University of Minnesota, Crookston Women’s Soccer Team to Kick-Off 2008 Season on the Road

(Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Women’s Soccer team will start the 2008 season with a pair of non-conference games on Sunday, August 31 and Monday, September 1. The Golden Eagles will travel to Kenosha, Wis. where they will take on Division III school Milliken University of Decatur, Ill. on Sunday and host Division II University of Wisconsin-Parkside on Monday. Both games are set for 12:00 pm starts.
Coach Chris Przemieniecki is entering his eighth season at U of M, Crookston. The Golden Eagles finished the 2007 season with an overall record of 5-15-0 and Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) record of 2-7-0. Top returnees include Megan Gibeault (So., Fwd., Green Bay, Wis.) who scored eight goals and added two assists for 18 points and Kelsey Palmer (So., Fwd., Crookston, Minn.) who scored seven goals and added four assists for 18 points last season.

The Big Blue finished the 2007 season with an overall record of 12-7-0 and conference record of 3-4-0. Sophomore Allison Horne led Millikin with 14 goals and 12 assists for 40 points last season.
U of M, Crookston vs. UW-Parkside Monday, September 1 12:00 pm Kenosha, Wis.
The Rangers finished the 2007 season with an overall record of 11-6-1 and conference record of 7-5-1. Junior Meredith Novak led UW-Parkside with five goals and eight assists for 18 points last season.
