University of Minnesota, Crookston Women’s Soccer Team to Host St. Cloud State and Concordia University, St. Paul

(Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Women’s Soccer team hosts a pair of Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) games on Saturday, October 4 and Sunday, October 5. St. Cloud State University comes to town on Saturday and Concordia University, St. Paul visits on Sunday. Both games start at 1 p.m. at the UMC Soccer Field.

 

U of M, Crookston has an overall record of 1-7-1 and NSIC record of 0-4-0 after two hard fought losses this past weekend. The University of Minnesota, Duluth upended the Golden Eagles by a 4-2 margin on Friday night while Bemidji State University scored two second-half goals on Sunday afternoon to win 2-0.

 

U of M, Crookston is led by Justine Jones (Jr, Mid/Fwd, Richland, Wash.) who has scored four goals for eight points. Kelsey Palmer (So, Fwd, Crookston, Minn.) has scored two goals and added one assist for five points.

St. Cloud State University has an overall record of 4-4-0 and NSIC record of 2-2-0. They were defeated 3-0 by Minnesota State Mankato and defeated Southwest Minnesota State 2-0 on Sunday. They are led by Tara Evangelist who has scored four goals and added two assists for ten points. Kyrsten Flynn-Wallace has scored four goals and added one assist for nine points. The Huskies defeated the Golden Eagles by a 7-0 score in a non-conference game back on September 14.

 

U of M, Crookston vs. Concordia University, St. Paul   1 p.m.  Sunday, October 5

 

The Golden Bears have an overall record of 5-6-0 and NSIC record of 2-2-0. They defeated Southwest Minnesota State University by a 1-0 score on Saturday and lost to Minnesota State University Mankato 2-0 on Sunday. They are led Emily Weimelt who has scored seven goals for 14 points.
