(Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston will look to carry the winning momentum gained from Sunday’s victory into this weekend’s two Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) matches. The Golden Eagles are coming off a thrilling 2-1 double-overtime home victory over NSIC foe Concordia University-St. Paul. Justine Jones (Jr, Mid/ Fwd, Richland, Wash.) scored off a penalty kick with 47 seconds remaining in the second overtime to give U of M, Crookston the victory.
The Golden Eagles will travel to Bismarck, N.D. to take on the University of Mary on Saturday, October 11 at 11 a.m. On Sunday, October 12, U of M, Crookston will face Northern State University at 1 p.m. in Aberdeen, S.D.
The Golden Eagles have an overall record of 2-8-1 and 1-5-0 in the NSIC. They are led by Jones who has scored five goals for 10 points. Kelsey Palmer (So, Fwd, Crookston, Minn.) has scored three goals and added one assist for seven points. Anna Ogaard (So, GK, Maple Grove, Minn.) has improved steadily in net with each game and has now recorded 83 saves on the season.
Golden Eagles at the University of Mary 11 a.m. Saturday, October 11
The University of Mary has an overall record of 4-7-0 and NSIC record of 4-1-0 after splitting two games this past weekend. On Saturday, the Marauders dropped a 2-1 decision to Minnesota State University, Mankato. On Sunday, they defeated Southwest Minnesota State University by a 3-1 margin. The University of Mary is led by Jessica Janusz who has scored four goals and added six assists for 14 points.
Golden Eagles at Northern State University 1 p.m. Sunday, October 12
Northern State University has an overall record of 6-6-0 and NSIC record of 2-3-0 after splitting a pair of games this weekend. The Wolves defeated Southwest Minnesota State University 3-1 on Saturday and dropped a 2-0 decision to Minnesota State University, Mankato on Sunday. Northern State University is led by Kaylee McDonald who has scored eight goals and added one assist for 17 points. Maggie Fedor has scored five goals and added four assists for 14 points.
