(Crookston, Minn.)- University of Minnesota, Crookston (UMC) Athletic Director Stephanie Helgeson and Head Football Coach Shannon Stassen announced today that Justin Schreiber has been named the offensive coordinator for the Golden Eagle Football team. Schreiber is currently an assistant coach at UMC, working with defensive backs.
“Justin’s experience at the quarterback position here at the University of Minnesota, Crookston, as well as his extensive background on the offensive side of the ball makes him a great fit for his new role as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach,” says head coach Shannon Stassen.
Schreiber etched his name into the record books as a quarterback for the Golden Eagle football team from 1999-2002. In his four seasons he set several UMC offensive records and was named an Honorable Mention member of the 2002 Don Hansen's Football Gazette Pre-Season All-American Football team. Following his four years of eligibility, he became a student-assistant quarterbacks coach at UMC while he finished his degree in Sport and Recreation Management. During the 2006 football season, Schreiber was the offensive coordinator, quarterbacks coach and defensive backs coach at Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton High School in Glyndon, Minn. Prior to his position at DGF High School, he was a graduate assistant running backs coach at Division II Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas.
“First and foremost, I would like to thank Coach Stassen and the entire staff for giving me this opportunity.  Spending the last two years on the defensive side of the ball has been great. It’s a great opportunity for me personally and I look forward to being back on the offensive side of the ball,” says coach Schreiber.
Coach Thomas Williams will also move from working with defensive backs to working with tight ends.
