, 2008) – Mariam Maiga, a senior from Crookston, Minn., studying business management with an emphasis in marketing, was recently elected a senator for the Student Senate Consultative Committee (SSCC).

The Student Senate Consultative Committee represents the students at large and not the individual campuses that make up the University of Minnesota. One student from each campus is chosen to be a senator for this committee.

Besides being active in the SSCC, Mariam is also involved with Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE), Crookston Student Association (CSA), and is a student ambassador for the Crookston campus.

Today the University of Minnesota, Crookston delivers more than 25 applied-science undergraduate degree programs and 50 concentrations, including several online degrees, in agriculture; arts, humanities and social sciences; business; math, science and technology; and natural resources.
