A special event is planned to warm your heart on a cold winter evening and to raise funds for student scholarships. The University of Minnesota, Crookston’s Valentine Day Gala is slated for Saturday, February 14, 2009, in the Sargeant Student Center’s Bede Ballroom. Tickets are $30 per person and can be purchased through a member of the University of Minnesota, Crookston Women’s Project Fund or by calling the Crookston Chamber of Commerce at 218-281-4320.

The gala begins at 6 p.m. with a red hot social followed by a dinner and dance. “Bring your sweetheart, partner, spouse, or come with a friend to share an evening of dinner, dancing, karaoke, and socializing,” says Sherry Just, admissions counselor, who co-chairs the gala with Mary Cavalier. “The evening will be filled with fun; it will warm your heart while raising some important scholarship dollars for U of M, Crookston students.”

Tickets went on sale Tuesday, January 20, and the event is sponsored by the Women’s Project Fund, which includes more than 50 women employed and associated with the University of Minnesota, Crookston and Extension. All proceeds from the Valentine’s Day Gala will be contributed to the Office of Development at the U of M, Crookston for student scholarships.
