Golden Eagle Men’s Hockey Team Hosts Final MCHA Regular Season Home Series

(Crookston, Minn.) – The University of Minnesota, Crookston Men’s Hockey team hosts its final regular season Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association (MCHA) home series on Friday, January 30 and Saturday, January 31 when Lawrence University comes to town. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. respectively. Friday’s game will serve as senior night. Saturday’s contest has been bumped up from its regularly scheduled 4 p.m. start. The two teams met back on November 21-22 in Appleton, Wis. with Lawrence taking 5-0 and 8-0 wins.

 

U of M, Crookston has an overall record of 3-16-0 and MCHA record of 3-11-0. They are led by Brent Swanson (Jr, Fwd, Mason City, Iowa) who has scored four goals and added eight assists for 12 points. Matt Marchel (Jr, Def, Grand Forks, N.D.) has scored five goals and added five assists for ten points. Jonathan Frank (Fr, Def, Wallingford, Conn.) and Fred Kooser (Jr, Fwd, Omaha, Neb.) have each scored four goals and added five assists for nine points. Bryan Dalbec (Fr, G, Superior, Wis.) has a 5.01 goals against average and a .881 saves percentage.

 

The University of Minnesota, Crookston will have three seniors seeing their final home regular season contests. They are Brett Saari (Sr, Fwd, Green Bay, Wis.), Kirk Graham (Sr, Def, Brandon, Manitoba) and Jacob Olsand (Sr, Def, Mayville, N.D.). They will be honored prior to Friday night’s game.

 

Golden Eagles vs. Lawrence University 7:30/3 p.m.  Friday/Saturday, January 30/31

 

Lawrence University has an overall record of 9-9-1 and MCHA record of 9-4-1 after losing to Marian University 2-0 on Friday and skating to a 1-1 tie with the Sabres on Saturday. They are led by Nick Jennette who has scored eight goals and added ten assists for 18 points. Evan Johnson has a 2.27 goals against average and a .917 saves percentage.
