Golden Eagles Travel to Finlandia University This Friday & Saturday

(Crookston, Minn.) – The University of Minnesota, Crookston Men’s Hockey team returns to Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association (MCHA) action on Friday, February 6 and Saturday, February 7 when they travel to Hancock, Mich. to face Finlandia University. The puck drops at 7:15 p.m. (EST) and 3:15 p.m. (EST) respectively. The Lions swept the Golden Eagles in Crookston by scores of 5-2 and 6-2 back on December 5-6.

 

The Golden Eagles hold an overall record of 3-18-0 and MCHA record of 3-13-0 after dropping an MCHA series to Lawrence University by scores of 2-0 and 5-4 last weekend. U of M, Crookston is led by Matt Marchel (Jr, Def, Grand Forks, N.D.) who has scored six goals and added seven assists for 13 points. Brent Swanson (Jr, Fwd, Mason City, Iowa) who has four goals and eight assists for 12 points. Nigel Smith (Fr, Fwd, White Rock, B.C.) has scored six goals and added five assists for 11 points while Fred Kooser (Jr, Fwd, Omaha, Neb.) has scored four goals and added seven assists for 11 points. Bryan Dalbec (Fr, G, Superior, Wis.) has a 4.48 goals against average and a .886 saves percentage.

The Lions have an overall record of 7-10-2 and MCHA record of 7-7-2 after defeating Northland College 4-0 on Friday but setting for a 2-2 tie on Saturday. They are led by James Neitsch who has nine goals and seven assists for 16 points. Quinn McIntosh has scored three goals and added 12 assists for 15 points. Ryan Donovan has a 3.77 goals against average and .879 saves percentage.
