U of M, Crookston Senior Kerry Fredrichs to Receive Scholarship from North Central Turf Grass Association

Senior Kerry Fredrichs is recipient of North Central Turf Grass Association Scholarship
The North Central Turf Grass Association (NCTGA) has announced University of Minnesota, Crookston Senior Kerry Fredrichs, New Holstein, Wis., as a recipient of a $2,000 scholarship. The scholarship will be awarded as part of the annual conference of the NCTGA in late February at the Doublewood Inn in Fargo, North Dakota. 

The purpose of the North Central Turf Grass Association is to promote the turf grass industry, to encourage and support the further study and research of turf, and to represent the group on matters of policy regarding the industry. They recently gave $2,500 in support to the golf and turf management program at the U of M, Crookston. To learn more about the NCTGA, visit www.nctga.net.

Kerry, a double major in golf and turf management and horticulture, was also a member of the U of M, Crookston turf grass team which placed 34 out of some 88 teams at the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA) conference held recently in New Orleans. These results are up from 64th place last year. GCSAA is dedicated to advancing the profession and enhancing the enjoyment, growth and vitality of the game of golf.
