The 71st Annual Honor Banquet sponsored by the Minnesota Red River Valley Development Association has been scheduled for Saturday, March 21, 2009, beginning at noon in Sahlstrom Conference Center, University of Minnesota Crookston.
Individuals from northwest Minnesota counties will be honored as Valley Farmers and Homemakers for the good example they have demonstrated in their family life, their community service, their farming or agribusiness operations and their efforts to conserve natural resources.
Honored couples for 2009 include:
Gary and Barbara Schlauderaff, Detroit Lakes, Becker County David and Doris Hanson, Hawley, Clay County Leonard and Kathy Stinar, Bagley, Clearwater County David and Julie Lindegard, Hallock, Kittson County Robert and Virginia Neisen, Mahnomen, Mahnomen County Bruce and Aase Hamnes, Stephan, Marshall County George and June Aargaard, Ada, Norman County Richard and Norma Haugdahl, Henning, East Otter Tail Russell and Barbara Dewey, Ashby, West Otter Tail Charles and Sharon Naplin, Thief River Falls, Pennington County Lauris and Clellie Kiecker, McIntosh, East Polk County Ronald and Julie Reitmeier, Fisher, West Polk County Orville and Genevieve Knott, Red Lake Falls, Red Lake County Gordon and Judy Landin, Warroad, Roseau County
Two Northwest Minnesota Youth Leadership Awards of $500 each will be presented to Evan Thomas, Clay County and David Hanson, Pennington County.
