The University of Minnesota, Crookston is hosting its second annual Public Engagement Day on Tuesday, April 21, 2009. A Community Dialogue will take place from 9 -11 a.m. in 116 Kiehle. It will provide an opportunity for the campus and community to collaborate on what it means to be partners, to learn more about the many dimensions of public engagement through examples of previous curriculum-based projects, and to cultivate new relationships around this important topic. Everyone is welcome to attend and refreshments will be served.

The community dialogue provides an opportunity for campus and community members to brainstorm community needs, which may be addressed by U of M, Crookston students through a service-learning project or community service activity.  The focus will be the curriculum-based projects students have completed in collaboration with community partners, and the types of projects faculty are seeking for fall 2009.

The community dialogue is sponsored by the Office of Service Learning at the U of M, Crookston. To learn more about service learning on the Crookston campus, visit www.UMCrookston.edu/services/servicelearning.
