Black Student Association Sponsors Auction to Raise Support for Polk County Coordinated Victim Services

The Black Student Association (BSA), led by Freshman Lauren Williams and Junior Athena Mussenden, sponsored an auction on Thursday, April 1, 2009, to raise money for Polk
Fourteen eligible dates were auctioned during Catering to the Ladies of UMC.

County Coordinated Victim Services. The auction, called "Catering to the Ladies of UMC," began at noon with the auctioning of dinner dates for the evening. Students purchased play money to use during the auction and $180 was raised in the effort.

A formal dinner was served in Bede Ballroom by Brown Dining Room staff at 7 p.m. that evening.The event was held in recognition of Women’s History Month. The purpose of BSA is to provide support, guidance and resources to the African, African-American Students of the Crookston campus; while bridging the gap of understanding among all nationalities on campus and in the community.

Today the University of Minnesota, Crookston delivers more than 25 applied-science undergraduate degree programs and 50 concentrations, including several online degrees, in agriculture; arts, humanities and social sciences; business; math, science and technology; and natural resources.
