Senior Hee Kwon Kim, an international student at the University of Minnesota, Crookston from South Korea, recently passed all four parts of the Uniform Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Examination.  Kim came to the Crookston campus under the English as a Second Language (ESL) program in 2005, and subsequently decided to continue as a degree-seeking student.  Kim intends to graduate in December 2009, with a bachelor of science degree in accounting.

The Uniform CPA examination is considered to be one of the most challenging professional exams administered and consists of four parts including auditing and attestation, business environment and concepts, financial accounting and reporting, and regulation.  Upon completion of requisite work experience in accounting, Kim may elect to be licensed as a CPA.

“We want to congratulate Hee Kwon on his success and recognize his diligent work towards achieving this goal,” says Associate Professor David Crawford, Ph.D., CPA. “He is a first-rate student and individual and we are fortunate to have him at the U of M, Crookston.”

Today the University of Minnesota, Crookston delivers more than 25 applied-science undergraduate degree programs and 50 concentrations, including several online degrees, in agriculture; arts, humanities and social sciences; business; math, science and technology; and natural resources.
