Third Annual “Walk with Bill” Scheduled for Thursday, April 23, 2009, at the U of M, Crookston; Pledge Your Support for Scholarships

Student-athletes will be joining Director of Athletic Fundraising Bill Tyrrell in his third annual walk for athletic scholarships at the University of Minnesota, Crookston and you can too. Join the Golden Eagle “Student-Athlete Walk with Bill for Athletic Scholarships” on Thursday, April 23, 2009, on the track at Ed Widseth Field. The event takes place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and refreshments will be provided by Crookston National Bank.

The minimum pledge amount is $1 per mile. Everyone is invited to join Bill and walk for part or all of the walk-a-thon.
Director of Athletic Fundraising Bill Tyrrell
The first two years of the walk raised some $21,000 for scholarships, and this year’s goal is to raise more than $15,000. All contributions to the walk-a-thon will fund athletic scholarships at the U of M, Crookston.
Tyrrell has worked for 21 years on the Crookston campus. The first 18 years heserved as head athletic trainer, and since 2005, he has been the director of athletic fundraising in the Office of Development & Alumni Relations.
