Making College and Career Count Presentation at UMC

Crookston, MN—January 20, 2006—The University of Minnesota, Crookston (UMC) will serve as host for the highly rated Making College & Career Count presentation on February 9 at 6:00 p.m. in Student Center on the campus. The evening will begin with pizza and refreshments prior to a one-hour presentation that will be delivered free to students and parents and is designed to help students begin to think about their next steps upon graduation. The program addresses important issues such as time management, choosing career paths, gaining experience through internships, and meaningful work experience and study skills.

Key content and supporting materials for the Making College and Career Count Presentation can be found on line at www.makingitcount.com. The Web site offers a wide variety of tools and resources for current and future high school students.

Seniors who participate in this presentation between January 1 and June 15 and who exhibit excellence based on the “Winning Characteristics” highlighted in the program are eligible for a two national, $5,000 and ten regional, $1,000 one-time scholarships.
