American Federal Bank Invests in Scholarships at the University of Minnesota, Crookston

CROOKSTON, MN (May 19, 2006) - American Federal Bank, Crookston is continuing its commitment to higher education in the region by investing some $1,500 in scholarships to support students at the University of Minnesota, Crookston (UMC).

American Federal Bank, Crookston Market President Percy J. Blake and UMC Director of Development Corby Kemmer signed an agreement which provides for a three-year scholarship pledge specifically to support students majoring in agricultural business or agricultural management.

The University of Minnesota, Crookston is an important part of our community, and we want to continue to help students achieve their higher education goals, said Blake, whos two children also attended UMC during their educational career. We have employed several students from the university over the years, and their contributions are important to our community and region.

The first $500 academic scholarship will be awarded for fall 2006.

Kemmer is pleased with the opportunity to strengthen UMC's partnership with American Federal Bank, Crookston to help students. "American Federal has been a longtime supporter of UMC, and this commitment shows how much they value education in northwest Minnesota and how much they believe in our students," Kemmer said.
