(Crookston, Minn.)- Head Coach Dave Simon announced today that Amanda Neubauer has been hired as an assistant volleyball coach with the Golden Eagles for the 2006 season.  Neubauer, a native of El Dorado, KS, is an Admissions Counselor at UMC. She came to the University of Minnesota, Crookston in June, 2006 from the University of North Dakota.
“I am eager to work with Coach Simon and the UMC volleyball program. I was hoping I would be able to continue coaching while working as an admissions counselor at UMC. Coming from the NCC, I am familiar with the strength of volleyball programs in the NSIC, and am looking forward to this season,” says Neubauer.
Neubauer was an All-Region VI Honorable Mention selection as a player at Butler Community College (BCC) before filling a role as an assistant coach with the Grizzlies.  She then transitioned into the role as Assistant Special Needs Coordinator and Academic Adviser at BCC. As a graduate assistant coach for the past two seasons at UND, Neubauer worked toward a Masters degree in communication and Educational Foundations and Research, which she will complete in Dec. 2006.
