UMC Professional Development Day October 13, 2006, to Focus on the Student Experience

CROOKSTON, MN (October 5, 2006) – With a focus on an outstanding student experience and quality student learning, faculty and staff at the University of Minnesota, Crookston (UMC) will hold a professional development day on Oct. 13, 2006. Sessions for the day will revolve around the theme “A Campus-wide Focus on the Student Experience.”
“We are looking forward to using the day to build on some of the exciting things going on at the University of Minnesota, Crookston,” Interim Vice Chancellor for Student Services & Enrollment Management Pam Holsinger-Fuchs said. “We will further explore our goal to provide an exceptional student experience on this campus and give our faculty and staff an opportunity for professional growth.”
Throughout the day, participants will focus on integrated learning and electronic assessment as well as a special session on academic programs; advising; first-year seminar; traditions and culture; and weekend programming as they relate to retention. The day concludes with an interactive session exploring online learning with a focus on the technologies, human resources and training needed for learning in a virtual environment. Sharing perspectives and reflection are a significant part of the day’s activities, and all faculty and staff are encouraged to attend.
