CROOKSTON, MN (October 16, 2006) – Jan Aamoth was named the new program coordinator for the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) at the University of Minnesota, Crookston (UMC). Aamoth joins Deanna Patenaude, RSVP program director.

RSVP, one of the largest volunteer efforts in the nation since 1971, matches local problems with older Americans who are willing to help. RSVP projects link the skills of the volunteers with identified community needs. RSVP has been sponsored by UMC for over thirty years.

"Jan brings a wealth of experience to RSVP and will be a valuable asset to the program," Deanna Patenaude, program director for RSVP, said. Aamoth, who has a bachelor’s degree in social work, recently worked with the hospice program through RiverView Healthcare and also the Respite Caregiver and Support Program in Crookston.
