Concordia-St. Paul Tabbed NSIC Preseason Volleyball Favorite
August 7, 2007

St. Paul, Minn. - For the fourth consecutive season the Concordia-St. Paul Golden Bears have been picked by the league coaches in the NSIC Preseason Poll.  For the second year in a row the Golden Bears narrowly edged out Southwest Minnesota State to earn the preseason honor.  Last year CSP and SMSU both received five first place votes, but the Golden Bears edged the Mustangs by one point.  This year the Golden Bears received seven nods for first and edged the Mustangs by four points, 85-81.  The Mustangs received two first place votes, but are able to boast the 2007 NSIC Preseason Player of the Year in Erin Contons (OH, Sr., Apple Valley, Minn.).  Wayne State received the final first place vote and finished third in the voting with 78 points.  MSU Moorhead narrowly beat out Winona State for fourth place by a count of 63 to 60.
