Golden Eagle Women’s Soccer Team Drops Close Game to MSU Moorhead by Score of 2-1

(Moorhead, Minn.) – The University of Minnesota, Crookston Women’s Soccer team picked up where it left off on Sunday by scoring the first goal of its game with MSU Moorhead on Wednesday. Unfortunately, the Dragons scored two second half goals and went on to win by a score of 2-1 in non-conference action.

 

Becky Thorbjornson (Jr., Mid., Rapid City, S.D.) gave U of M, Crookston a 1-0 halftime lead when she scored at 35:45 of the first half. However, MSUM scored goals from Katie Hiemstra (Jr., Fwd., Pierre, S.D.) and Tricia Vanyo (Fr., Mid., Moorhead, Minn.) at 47:10 and 66:04 respectively.

 

Anna Ogaard (Fr., GK., Maple Grove, Minn.) played the entire game in net for the Golden Eagles recording ten saves.

 

U of M, Crookston returns to action on Saturday when they travel to Mitchell, S.D. for a 12:00 pm game with Dakota Wesleyan.
