U of M, Crookston Women’s Volleyball Team Loses to U of Mary in Three Games

(Crookston, Minn.) – The University of Mary came out blazing on Saturday and handed the University of Minnesota, Crookston its ninth Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) loss with a 3-0 victory. The Marauders won by scores of 30-18, 30-20 and 31-29.


Tatiani Santos led U of Mary with 11 kills and a hitting percentage .476. Kristin Collins had 33 set assists and Makenzie Hennessy added 18 digs. Ashley Maas and Laci Murtha added 10 kills each while Katie Hogan had 12 digs.


Amber Meyer (Fr., MH, Paxton, Neb.) led the Golden Eagles with nine kills while Theresa Crance (Sr., MH, Timberlake, S.D.) and Katie Bonine (Fr., OH, Cottage Grove, Minn.) added eight and seven kills respectively. Cassie Yates (Jr., S, Buffalo, Minn.) had 23 set assists while Megan Derouard (Sr., S/DS, Kenora, Ontario, Canada) added 11. Heather Foreman (Jr., OH, Brandon, Manitoba, Canada) and Jaclyn Slepicka (So., Libero, Crystal Lake, Ill.) each had 13 digs.


The Golden Eagles fall to 4-18 overall and 2-10 in the NSIC. The University of Mary improves its record to 8-11 overall and 4-9 in the NSIC.


U of M, Crookston will return to action on Tuesday, October 16 when they travel to Moorhead, Minn. for an NSIC game with MSU Moorhead. Action will start at 7:00 pm.
