(Crookston, Minn.) – The University of Minnesota, Crookston Western Equestrian team travels to Lincoln, Neb. this Saturday to take part in a competition hosted by the University of Nebraska. Events get underway at 1:00 pm.

Golden Eagle Western Coach Nicky Overgaard looks for good things this weekend. “We are looking forward to having a solid weekend in Nebraska,” says Coach Overgaard.

“They typically host a well organized show with a lot of good horses.”

Coach Overgaard sees Nebraska and South Dakota State University as her team’s toughest competition this weekend. She has several riders who are close to qualifying for regionals this weekend and expects Jackie Ezell (So., Carlton, Minn.) and Kathy Ternes (Sr., Felton, Minn.) to advance a division at this show. Emily Clark (Sr., Fort Branch, Indiana) advanced at UW-River Falls back on October 6 and 7 to qualify for regionals. Coach Overgaard will also be looking for peak performances from Corey Ramsden (Sr., Sisseton, S.D.), Sheena Engelbert (Sr., Bruce Crossing, Mich.) and Kayla Klein (Fr., Hazen, N.D.).
