U of M, Crookston Men's Hockey Team Looks for First MCHA Victory This Weekend

(Crookston, Minn.) – The University of Minnesota, Crookston Men’s Hockey team is looking for its first Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association (MCHA) victory this weekend as the Golden Eagles host Lawrence University on Saturday and Sunday at the Crookston Civic Arena. The puck drops at 2:00 pm both days.


The Golden Eagles look to continue the momentum built in their 6-1 non-conference victory over Concordia-Moorhead on Tuesday night. John Lombardi (So., Fwd., Apple Valley, Minn.) and Alex Maginnis (Fr., Fwd., Mason City, Iowa) each scored two power play goals and Eric Everson (Jr., G., Stevens Point, Wis.) was solid between the pipes stopping 27 of 28 Cobber shots.


The Golden Eagles are 1-6-0 overall and 0-4-0 in the MCHA. They are led by Maginnis who has seven goals and two assists for nine points. Teal Plaine (Sr., Fwd., Hallock, Minn.) has one goal and four assists for five points and Matt Marchel (So., Def., Grand Forks, N.D.) has five assists for five points.


Lawrence University has an overall record of 1-4-1 after Tuesday night’s 1-1 tie with Lake Forest. They have a record of 1-3-0 in the MCHA. The Vikings are led by Josh Peterson who has one goal and seven assists for eight points.
