$3,500 Grant and In-Kind Donations Awarded to U of M, Crookston by the MNLA Foundation

The MNLA Foundation recently announced $3,500 in grants to the University of Minnesota, Crookston to support research and education. The MNLA Foundation is a sister organization of the Minnesota Nursery and Landscape Association (MNLA).

The following grants were recently awarded to Assistant Professor of Golf & Turf Management Rob Golembiewski, Ph.D., at the Minnesota Green Expo held Jan. 9-11, 2008, in Minneapolis, Minn.:

> $3,500 awarded for Upgrade of Horticulture Greenhouse Teaching Laboratory

> In-kind plant donations for the Golf Garden Teaching, Research, and Outreach Facility currently being planned

“The MNLA Foundation is committed to the long-term improvement of the environment and our industry’s future by supporting research and students at area colleges and universities,” said John Mickman, chairman of the board of trustees of the MNLA Foundation.

The MNLA Foundation raises funds for research and education through voluntary contributions from members including garden centers; landscape contractors and designers; tree and flower growers; irrigation contractors; and lawn, tree, and garden services.
