Everson Takes Home MCHA Honors for Second Time This Season

(Crookston, Minn.)- University of Minnesota, Crookston Men’s Hockey player Eric Everson (Jr., G., Stevens Point, Wis.) has been named Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association (MCHA) Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season. He also earned the same honors back on December 3. The junior goaltender helped lead the Golden Eagles to an MCHA sweep of Concordia University-Wisconsin this past weekend.


The junior, goaltender was stellar between the pipes on Friday night as he turned away 20 Falcon shots in a 6-0 victory. It was Everson’s second shut-out of the season. Saturday saw him put together another solid performance as the junior net-minder stopped 27 Concordia shots in a 4-3 victory.


Everson has a record of 5-8-0 on the season. He has a 3.88 goals against average and a .893 saves percentage. Everson is a Pre-Physical Therapy major at the University of Minnesota, Crookston. He is the son of David and Patti Everson of Stevens Point, Wis.


The Golden Eagles return to MCHA action this Friday and Saturday when they travel to Appleton, Wis. to take on Lawrence University. The puck drops at 7:00 pm on Friday and 4:00 pm on Saturday.
