(Crookston, Minn.) – The University of Minnesota, Crookston Hunt Equestrian team travels to Madison, Wis.  on Saturday, February 16 and Sunday, February 17 for a show at the University of Wisconsin. Saturday’s events will get underway at 1:00 pm while Sunday’s activities will start at 9:00 am. The Golden Eagles only have two shows left before the Regional Competition begins.

There are limited entries forcing Coach Brooke Marcus to leave half her squad at home. “I think that the ten riders performing have a good shot at qualifying for the Regional Competition,” says Coach Marcus. “They have had a solid season and are consistently placing well in their respective divisions. “

Amber Miller (Sr, DePere, Wis.) is just one solid performance away from qualifying in Novice Flat Division. Kayla Klein (Fr, Hazen, N.D.) has become a consistent top contender in Novice Flat Division as well and has a good shot of qualifying this weekend. Rebecca Rhodus (Fr, Kansas City, Missouri) has quickly worked her way through the Walk Trot Canter Division and should qualify by the end of the regular season. Andrea Reed (Sr, Williston, N.D.) is two good rides away from making the cutoff in Walk Trot Division

The hunt seat team is currently in fourth place out of 13 teams in the region. “I am looking for consistent performances and solid placings to move the team up in the overall team standings,” says Coach Marcus. “All of these ten riders are outstanding athletes and they all are within reach of qualifying for the Regional Competition.
