(Crookston, Minn.) – The University of Minnesota, Crookston Women’s Basketball team took to the court tonight against the Upper Iowa University Peacocks. The Golden Eagles were looking to avenge an 80-70 loss in Fayette, Iowa on January 19. The Peacock’s took a commanding lead at the five minute mark of the half 34-19 and didn’t look back. In that span, she outscored Upper Iowa 11-2. Jaime Zelinsky (Fr., G, Brooklyn Park, Minn.) chipped in with 11 points and five rebounds in the half.

Going into the second half, Minnesota, Crookston was down 38-30. The shooting woes didn’t get any better for the Golden Eagles as they continued to struggle from the field, shooting 33 percent.  The Peacocks opened their lead up in the half at the nine minute mark pushing their lead up to 18.  Brittany Iredale came in off the bench and scored 18 second half points, going 9-11 from the field. Minnesota, Crookston was led by Jamie Zelinsky who scored 21 points and grabbed nine rebounds. She went 7-19 from the field and shot 6-6 from the free-throw line.
