The college provides its unique contribution through polytechnic programs that combine theory, practice, and experimentation in a technologically rich environment. The UMC campus is a very busy place and students never have a problem finding things to do! There are over 40 clubs and organizations on campus that students can join including; academic clubs, political clubs, religious clubs, and many more. S.P.A.C.E. is one organization that brings a lot of entertainment to campus. They sponsor events weekly on Wednesday nights and two weekends a month. These events include, but are not limited to; dances, movies, comedians and even hypnotists. What does “ Laptop University ” mean? (back to top)

Every UMC student is provided with a laptop computer for his or her use 24 hours a day, seven days a week – in or out of the classroom. Students use their computer to manage their schedules, conduct and analyze research, study, communicate with professionals (both on and off campus), and to develop and deliver multimedia presentations.

How do I transfer to U of M Crookston from another institution? (back to top)

The best way to go about transferring into the University of Minnesota , Crookston is to apply. Please send us official copies of all of your transcripts. If you have less than 26 semester credits, you need to send high school transcripts also. The transfer specialist will enter all of your credits into the DARwin system, which will tell you exactly what transferred, how it transferred and how many credits you will have to complete at UMC to graduate.
