Merit Scholarships for 2008-2009
The University of Minnesota, Crookston attracts some of the best and brightest high school graduates and transfer students around. We are proud to offer the following merit scholarships to those who qualify! We encourage you to apply early for admission as scholarship funds are awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The Achievement Scholar - $2,000
Students graduating from high school who have scored a 21-22 on the ACT and have earned a 3.25 high school GPA will receive $2,000 total ($1,000/year with an opportunity for renewing a 2nd year).
The Merriam Legacy Scholar - $4,000
Students graduating from high school who have scored a 23-24 on the ACT and have earned a 3.25 high school GPA will receive $4,000 total ($2,000/year with an opportunity for renewing a 2nd year).
The Distinguished Scholar - $6,000
Students graduating from high school who have scored a 25-26 on the ACT and have earned a 3.25 high school GPA will receive $6,000 total ($3,000/year with an opportunity for renewing a 2nd year).
The Chancellor Scholar - $8,000
Students graduating from high school who have scored a 27-29 on the ACT and have earned a 3.25 high school GPA will receive $8,000 total ($4,000/year with an opportunity for renewing a 2nd year).
The Presidential Scholar - $20,000
Students graduating from high school who have scored a 30 or higher on the ACT and have earned a 3.25 high school GPA will receive $20,000 total ($5,000/year with an opportunity for renewing for three additional years).
Please note that merit scholarships are renewable with a cumulative GPA of 3.25. Update: Starting with spring 2010 admits, merit scholarships will be renewed with a UMC cumulative GPA of 3.3.
Students must be U.S. Citizens, Canadian residents, or permanent residents to be awarded a merit scholarship and enroll full-time to receive merit scholarship funds.
