Mission Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Ally (GLBTA) Programs at the University of Minnesota - Crookston exists within the division of Student Affairs that is dedicated to Diversity Programs. UMC GLBTA Programs staff is dedicated to serving the unique needs of its community while contributing to the mission of the Systemwide Standing Commission on GLBTA Concerns. The mission of the GLBTA Programs Coordinator and allied staff and students is to foster a campus environment where all are able to safely and comfortably self express without fear of discrimination, harm or exposure of cultural identities. We commit ourselves to creating a successful multicultural community that encourages all who work and study to reach their full potential. We accept the challenge to change, to be excellent in both traditional and new ways, to find creative energy to maintain diversity as a necessary high priority. In service of the Mission of the Twin Cities GLBTA Programs Office: We recognize the intersections of gender and sexuality with race, ethnicity, class, ability, age, culture, and all social systems; we are committed to holding ourselves and others accountable for working against all forms of oppression. The GLBTA Programs Office seeks to bridge and build communities that create affirming and welcoming environments in which people can be their whole selves and which honor all identities and experiences. In the service of expanding the efforts of the Twin Cities GLBTA Programs Office to include all University of Minnesota campuses, the efforts of the Crookston GLBTA Programs Coordinator shall be guided by the following service areas: Advocacy, Information & Referrals Education & Training Programming & Events Consultation & Programming Development Community Building http://glbta.umn.edu/about/services.html
