The Writing Center provides online consultation to all UMC students. Currently, our online consultation is limited to quick writing tips by using the technology of online chat in-text and document exchange through a shared whiteboard. If you have a paper which is more than one page long, you are strongly encouraged to schedule an appointment for a face-to-face consultation.

When you see a TUTOR NOW ONLINE button below, you can click it to request online consultation. You will need your X500 user ID and university password to log in.

If you do not see the button, it either means the tutor is working with another student or there is no tutor online at the moment. You need to check back later. Please contact the Writing Center Director with any questions or concerns at barto148@umn.edu.
